Detailed trip itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Transfer Giraffe Manor

Arrive in Nairobi, and then transfer to your luxurious accommodations in one of Kenya’s most famous hotels - the Giraffe Manor - an exclusive boutique hotel, owned by The Safari Collection. The historic manor house has extraordinary appeal, that harks back to the 1930s when visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris. With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa: indeed, one of its twelve rooms is named after the author Karen Blixen. Stay: Giraffe Manor.

Days 2 - 3: Lake Naivasha

Head off to Loldia House on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Explore the lakes and mountains around this private 6500-acre farm and see rhino at nearby Lake Nakuru. Loldia House is an ideal spot to relax, taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley. Loldia House is an original Kenyan home set on an old farm on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Here guests can enjoy a gentle pace of life; relax by the pool, take in the views, head off on a game drive or indulge in a variety of treatments from our poolside spa room. Stay: 2 nights at Loldia House

Days 4 - 6: Laikipia

Travel by road to Laikipia in northern Kenya . Discover the 40,000-acre Mugie Conservancy – spot rare wildlife, track lions with rangers, head out with the anti-poaching unit (bloodhounds and their handlers) and see the excellent community cattle grazing programme. With its open savannah, dotted with iconic acacia trees, scrubby bush and olive tree forests stretching to the foothills of the Larogi plateau, Mugie is diverse and home to some of the threatened and endangered keystone species, whose numbers have declined to critical levels due to poaching and habitat loss. Mugie Conservancy provides a haven for animals, birds, and plant life. Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, (which are endemic to the area), big cats, buffalo, elephants, reticulated giraffe, storks, and birds of prey, are just a few of the wonderful creatures that roam Mugie’s plains and forests. Stay: 3 nights at Mugie House

Days 7 - 9: Maasai Mara

Fly by light aircraft to an exceptionally wildlife-rich corner of the Maasai Mara. Head out on game drives to spot big cats with expert guides who know the local lions of the marsh pride by name. The Maasai Mara is what safari dreams are made of. The most famous reserve in the world has rolling grasslands and wide open savannah where big cats and the Big Five roam. This is the place to see the incredible annual wildebeest migration between June and October – as over a million animals thunder across the plains in search of water and grazing – but the Mara has mass appeal all year-round. A magical hot-air balloon safari is a must; gently drift over the plains at sunrise as wildlife roams below you. Stay: 3 nights at Governor's Camp

Day 10: Depart, Fly Nairobi

After an early breakfast, you’ll you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your maiden air transfer to Nairobi. You will arrive in time for a late lunch and thereafter transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
